School uniforms for the orphans
Giving the children a future: around 90 children have received their school uniforms.
Haniya's happy day
“Today I'm getting my school clothes!” Little Haniya is receiving her school uniform today. “At last!” she says – her classmates will no longer laugh at her for not having the same clothes. Shirt, trousers, skirt and shoes are all part of the basic outfit.
Visibly proud, Haniya looks into the camera, as happy as the roughly 90 other children who received these important clothes with her today. This was made possible by the generosity of our “Friends of the Children of Lahore” – and now nothing stands in the way of the orphans' schooling.
Thanks to the Dominican fathers …
Father Azhar, a Dominican priest from Lahore, is happy to be able to offer the orphans a future. He does not do it alone: his fellow friars teach the children. They help us make Bishop Andrew Francis's dream come true and lift the children out of the poverty trap. Father Azhar is always there when it comes to practical help, organisation and distributing food, clothing, school uniforms and much more.
… and thanks be to God!
Not least, thanks to Father Azhar the children also receive spiritual care. Celebrating Holy Mass matters just as much as blessing food and goods. The children should learn that God's blessing for the things we need does not “simply fall from the sky”, but calls for prayer – asking and thanking God. This is also the guiding spirit of Antoniushilfe and Anthony's Foundation.
To all helping hands …
… and especially to everyone who makes this possible through their donations: thank you once again. Each and every one of you, and our helpers on the ground, help give these children a future. May God reward you!
