Can we turn away those who cry out for food and shelter?
A report from our co-worker Anthony Javed on the children's current situation.
Dear brothers and sisters, warm greetings from Lahore, Pakistan!
Anthony's Foundation works against child labour, and we have 116 orphans in our project areas of Kasur and Sangla Hill. Anthony's Foundation provides them with free education, food and everything they need to live. But sadly, this month – December 2024 – we have run out of funds.
The children are hungry and have nothing to eat. They are falling ill because of the cold winter weather, and they have no warm clothes. They need warm clothing, shoes, socks and warm hats. They are crying from hunger and illness.
Mother Teresa said: If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one. Our humble request to everyone: please give them what they need to live. They are waiting for your love and support. Do good to others – it will come back in unexpected ways.
John the Baptist answered the people who asked him what they should do: “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.” (Luke 3:11)
And Jesus said: “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14)
My dear brothers and sisters, please come and protect these beautiful and innocent angels in this world!
