Our children are in great danger
The threat of war between India and Pakistan also endangers our orphans of Lahore. The children's home in Kasur lies dangerously close to the Indian border.
Latest report from our co-worker Anthony Javed:
I hope this message finds you in good health. I am writing on behalf of Anthony's Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the welfare and protection of vulnerable children in Pakistan.
Because of the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan near the eastern border of Lahore, the area where our children live is under direct threat – it lies only 31km from the Line of Control. On 7 May 2025, India launched Operation Sindoor and struck nine areas in Pakistan, including Lahore. India then sent 77 drones into Pakistan, including Lahore, the capital of Punjab province. Both countries are now threatening each other with nuclear weapons.
The children are now facing not only the trauma of war but also a daily struggle for the basics: shelter, food and psychological support. We are caring for the orphans, but our resources are extremely limited.
We urgently ask for your financial support for food, water, emergency kits and first aid. Your help could save lives at a time when these children need it most.
We hope for your prayers and your swift financial help!
Yours, Anthony Javed
A note from Germany
At the moment the children cannot leave their homes, because the threat from drones and fighter jets makes a normal day impossible. Being so close to the Indian border, they can neither go to school nor play. The deafening noise of the fighter jets frightens the children badly, and the adults are completely overwhelmed too.
Please help us make sure that a shortage of food does not make the situation even worse, and pray that this conflict will soon calm down.
